What Kinds of Stains Can Be Lightened?
- Our teeth whitening treatments are an excellent way to lighten external dental stains. These can be caused by smoking and certain types of foods and beverages, such as coffee, tea, berries, and red wine.
- Discoloration inside a tooth caused by trauma, genetics, or medications does not respond to teeth whitening treatments. Our dentist may recommend other cosmetic procedures such as porcelain veneers, dental crowns, or LUMINEERS® to conceal these concerns.
In-Office Whitening
- After a thorough, professional teeth cleaning to remove plaque and tartar that can hamper the whitening treatment, the Zoom! hydrogen peroxide-based gel will be applied to your teeth. We'll ensure your lips, gums, and other soft tissues of your mouth are covered to avoid irritation.
- The solution is then activated using a special light, which stimulates oxygen molecules to remove the stains. The procedure typically takes about one hour. Once your treatment is complete, your teeth should be noticeably whiter, enhancing the overall aesthetics of your smile.
At-Home Whitening
In addition to in-office whitening, we offer professional-grade take-home whitening kits that allow you to brighten your smile in a way that fits your busy schedule.
