Dental Crowns

Broken or decayed teeth can cause discomfort, interfere with dental function, and make you feel self-conscious about your smile. Dr. Jose Valenzuela offers custom dental crowns, a dental restoration that can remedy both cosmetic and functional concerns.  Crowns typically cost between $450 and $850 at our Los Algodones, Mexico, dental clinic—a fraction of what you would pay in the U.S.

What Is a Dental Crown?

Dental crowns are widely used in both restorative dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. They fit over broken or cosmetically compromised teeth to protect them from damage and improve their appearance.

Our porcelain and zirconia crowns are durable and incredibly lifelike. In fact, they are virtually indistinguishable from your natural teeth.

You could benefit from a dental crown at our Los Algodones, Mexico, office if you have:

  1. A severely decayed tooth
  2. A tooth that offsets your bite
  3. A cracked tooth
  4. A worn tooth
  5. A missing tooth
  6. A need for root canal therapy

Affordable, Accessible Dental Care Is Waiting Just Across the Border

A same-day crown made from porcelain at Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry Center in Los Algodones, Mexico, typically costs between $450 and $850. In contrast, a porcelain crown made at a laboratory in the United States can cost anywhere between $800 and $3,000. Our dentists can offer you the same dental care you would receive in the United States for a fraction of the cost

Our dental clinic is committed to providing affordable dental work to all patients. We accept most insurance plans. If your crown is being used for restorative purposes, it will likely be covered. We also accept financing options so your dental work can fit even more comfortably into your budget.

"The Service Down Here Is Second to None." Hear From Barb, One of Dr. Valenzuela's Happy Patients

Barb traveled all the way from Alberta, Canada, to visit Dr. Valenzuela. She had dental crowns for most of her life, but the restorations she received at home fit her teeth poorly. Once at our Los Algodones clinic, Dr. Valenzuela found that undiagnosed periodontal disease was the cause of her concerns. He and our team got right to work on a treatment plan that included gum care, a new dental bridge, and five new dental crowns.

Featured Dental Crown Options At Our Los Algodones Practice

In addition to offering traditional dental crowns, which are made by dental technicians at a laboratory, we offer:

Same-Day Dental Crowns

Instead of waiting two weeks for a traditional crown to be made, our Los Algodones, Mexico, office has CAD/CAM technology that allows us to create same-day porcelain crowns. This means you won't have to wear a temporary crown or wait for your crown to be created in a lab.

Keep in mind that zirconia crowns take longer to create than porcelain crowns. You and your dentist can determine which material is best for your needs.

Implant-Supported Dental Crowns

If you are missing a tooth, consider an implant-supported crown. This option is better than a traditional bridge because even though bridges replace the visible portion of missing teeth, they don't replace tooth roots.

At our office in Los Algodones, Mexico, we can place a dental implant at the site of a missing or extracted tooth. This dental implant can then support a dental crown, filling the gap and restoring your smile and dental function. Dental implants also stimulate your jawbone, stopping the atrophy that results from tooth loss.

My husband and I have now both had work done. What is the most impressive is it is a very busy practice and everyone is very friendly. I continue to refer people here and it is an easy drive from Palm Springs

Dr Valenzuela and his staff are one of the most professional teams I had the pleasure working with. I’m not the best dental patient, nervous and jumpy normally. The staff took there time and help me feel comfortable. I would give them 5 star service. Thanks to them I can smile with confidence again.

How Is a Crown Placed?

You may be a little anxious about having dental work done in Mexico, but know that 98% of our patients are from the U.S., and Dr. Valenzuela is, too. Our Los Algodones practice follows the same high standards you would expect from any U.S. dental clinic.

We're here to ensure your dental treatment experience is comfortable and efficient. We're right across the border, so all you have to do is bring your passport and any patient forms you may have received before your visit.

Dr. Valenzuela prides himself on taking the utmost care with each and every patient. Though crown placement isn't especially uncomfortable, we offer sedation to ensure relaxation.

Consultation

During an exam at our Los Algodones office, we can discuss your concerns, goals, and which type of dental work is recommended. In some cases, we might need to perform root canal therapy before your crown is placed.

Preparation

After the area has been numbed, your dentist will begin your dental work by removing any existing decay and reshaping your tooth to make room for the crown. We offer sedation if you are feeling anxious.

Impressions

Next, your dentist will take impressions of your teeth using our intraoral scanner. These impressions will be used to create your restoration.

Fabrication

If you're receiving a traditional crown, your impressions will be sent to a lab where your porcelain or zirconia restoration will be created over the course of two weeks, and we can provide a lifelike temporary crown in the meantime. Frequently, though, we can create your crown in a single appointment while you wait.

Placement

Once your permanent crown is ready, it will be secured to your tooth with dental cement.
